Our Story

Studio Cables came about here in Miami when a client of ours asked us about recording a high profile artist. They wanted all high-end equipment and were going for the best sound attainable. Audio cables in these situations are always tricky. Because really good cables always end up costing about $8000 or more. But are crucial for good resolution, imaging, and sound stage.

We had a very talented Audio Engineer who also happened to be an audiophile that had studied high-end cable design. He thought that if we made our own cables with the best materials available. We could get the sound we needed without having to spend the thousands of  dollars it would normally require for these type of projects. As it turned out he was indeed correct.

After a few prototypes it was immediately apparent that using better materials such as silver and gold made a big difference in the clarity and resolution of the music. It was like going from an low resolution mp3 to a flac file. Silver after all is the best conductor with the lowest resistivity of all available metals allowing more of your recording through. We also realized that the configuration of the conductors made an even bigger difference. So we spent the most of our time trying out different configurations of the silver until we found one that we thought was optimum for our system. It was immediately obvious to us that most manufactured cables have an inherent flaw that causes them to have a muffled congested sound with very little sound stage. It is mainly due to the close spacing between the conductors. This is a result of the way most audio cables are manufactured. There are a few exceptions out there but they cost an incredible amount of money. That is why our interconnect cables are totally manufactured by hand in house with 99.999% silver conductors. It was the only way to get the sound we wanted.

The dielectric is also important and as such we ended up using Teflon tubes that are larger than the diameter of the conductors wherever possible. We estimate only a 5% of the conductor actually touches anything but air. And as any educated audiophile would tell you that is the preferred method for all high end cables designs these days the problem is their price. If you do some research on the cables available today with this type of air dielectric you will see that it's into the thousands of dollars.

And finally we have added vibration absorbing materials to minimize any sound induced vibrations from affecting the conductors and coloring the sound. All terminated with high quality gold connectors from well respected manufacturers that have been in the business for years. Not just going for the latest fads in connector designs.

So as you can see we did not leave any stone unturned. The result were cables that are open and airy. Suddenly the speakers projected a sound stage that was wide as well as deep. They let the music flow effortlessly compared to other cables. They also have better bass extension and high frequency extension than the commonly used high end cables.

After hearing the new cables in our home systems we quickly realized we could not go back to using our old cables. And they were some pretty awarded cables in there own right. The  sound was congested and flat with the old cables. That is when we decided to offer these cables to the public. Whether you're an audiophile that doesn't want to spend thousands of dollars on high end interconnects and speaker cables or are a studio owner building a new studio and need cables for permanent installation of new monitors and equipment. These are for you. For the ultimate in detail and musicality look no further. And as we are using the direct to consumer model we are able to offer these cables at a much better price than the equivalent high end cables offered by the big companies.
